January Updates: 1st grade designed derby cars out of Rok Blocks. They had to identify the coins that went with each piece of their design and add up the total cost of all of their materials. We then raced them and had a discussion about friction and balanced weight.Cannon Cubs
3rd grade scholars are working on designing parking garages. They were given the total amount of spaces for the three levels all together and the first level. Using their math strategies, they chose how many spaces would be able to fit on the 2nd and 3rd levels. Cannon Cubs

Kinder Updates: Kinder Cubs learned about 2D shapes by creating their own robot designs. Cannon Cubs
Kinder Update: Kinder Cubs used their knowledge of stable shapes of structures to save the Little Billy Goats Gruff from the troll under the bridge. Cannon Cubs
Kinder Update: For Earth Week, Kinder Cubs designed flowers and sold them to learn about financial literacy and income. Cannon Cubs
First Grade Update: We read the book, "What the Dinosaurs Did Last Night: A Very Messy Adventure" and first grade cubs had to use their knowledge of plot and using details in writing to write an alternate ending to the story. I loved seeing their creativity!! Cannon Cubs
First Grade Update: First Grade Cubs learned about symmetry. They designed their own creations of symmetry using Legos with a partner. These designs were amazing! Cannon Cubs
Second Grade Update: We read the book "When Sparks Fly: The True Story of Robert Goddard, the Father of US Rocketry" and created a mosaic or 3D design to retell the life of Robert Goddard. Cannon Cubs
Third Grade Update: Third Grade Cubs have been practicing their inferencing skills. They created a digital piece that contained clues about their scene. They presented their scene and other scholars made inferences about what was happening in the scene. Cannon Cubs
Fourth Grade Update: Fourth Grade Cubs have been practicing their equivalent fractions in Applied STEM! They designed a landscape and calculated the fraction of each color. They then found an equivalent fraction for each color. Cannon Cubs
Fourth Grade Update: We were so excited to see the total solar eclipse that we wanted to research all of the misconceptions people have about solar eclipses. Fourth grade Cubs researched about eclipses to find evidence to prove that the statements were misconceptions. Cannon Cubs
Fourth Grade Update: For Earth Week, fourth grade cubs found innovative solutions for human's impact on Earth. They defined the problem they chose and then came up innovative solutions to help the problem they found. Cannon Cubs
Fifth Grade Cubs have been using their math knowledge to come up with two new lunches for our Cafe. They found the items' calories, made sure it was in the limit the National School Lunch Nutrition Standards, calculated the total calories for class and grade level. Cannon Cubs
