Reduced hrs for new job from Jan working Wed, Thurs, Fri. This week needed to work Monday so swapped for Wednesday. Let me tell you working a Monday followed by 2DAYS OFF feels positively decadent. Not sure why it feels so different 🤔🤣

3 glasses of wine in but life after headship has been a revelation. 5 months in, I’m enjoying being part of a team,not ‘the boss’; I enjoy using 57 yrs life ,16 yrs headship & 11 yrs banking experience to add some perspective to education. Oh & I love working 3 days most of all!

I presume Strava clocked the odd time I’ve reached 190 beats & not died whereas Apple just uses 220- age & makes me think I might cus spend too long in higher zones. Anyhow yesterday’s run I chatted all the way & felt easy. Think Strava closest ( free trial perks) #running

An anecdote of an interaction with a patient that has stayed with me for 15 years. When I was a fresh-faced 2nd year doctor in a GP practice, a young lady came for an appointment. She couldn’t have been more than 5 years older than me. The reason was ‘work stress’ A long 🧵

Just spotted I’d been charged nearly £23interest on M& S credit card because when clearing the balance of £48.58, I mistakenly paid £48.50. Quick online chat to investigate & they’ve refunded no quibble . All within T&Cs if balance not cleared but wow 8p could’ve been costly!

On train to meet a friend. Train journeys always make me nostalgic for my youth & what was, what might have been. I’ve had a lovely life with no real regrets just pondering on paths taken. Something about flashing through the countryside, seeing people at stations- gets me 🚝🤔

Was watching Olympics on Discovery + for a bit. Not bad but no comparison for athletics commentary & studio chat compared to BBC- Cram, Ennis, Lewis, Johnson & Logan just feels right!

Olympics random thought: weird how we have different swimming strokes to swim A-B. And yet we don’t have variations on running A-B ( ok hurdles & not running/ walking but they don’t count).Reckon hands on head running or running backwards could take off . Any others? 😂
