Looks like the big surprises were relatively small bids by T-Mobile and big bids by Dish. Not a surprise AT&T topped bids or that Verizon sat out auction.

Interesting to me that since the FCC put out another notice on the 2.5 GHz auction yesterday, no one has sent out a comment. This is the next #5G auction, and the only one in the works for now. fcc.gov/document/aucti…

Today marks two years since the last in-person FCC meeting. The next meeting, on March 31, was online as the COVID-19 shut-down started. Who knew two years later everything would still be online only. TAC met today, with talk its next meeting in June could be in-person.

As previously reported in Communications Daily the FCC has taken a hard look at Russian communications companies and potential security threats. Will be interesting to see if more actions follow.

We're still waiting for the post on what items will be considered at the next FCC meeting. Seems like it gets later and later.

The FCC is taking on a very significant, but very thorny issue. OET officials say in a press call this is essentially a record refresh, though some of the data in the record was gathered a long time ago.

More C-band uncertainty? Pete Buttigieg tells Senate subcommittee issues between carriers and The FAA ✈️ "won’t be completely resolved by this summer ... we are doing everything we can to pursue the technological solutions that I think will be an ultimate long-range fix."

Big day for 5G? The FCC approves more than 3.45 GHz licenses won in recent auction. Seems like especially big development for AT&T and its one-touch strategy. fcc.gov/document/aucti…

.FCC NOI teed up for June vote explores interesting issues on spectrum use/management offshore. Seems like it could lead to a lot more items down the road, or at least affect other items. FCC has only ever licensed spectrum for Gulf of Mexico. fcc.gov/document/facil…

Second FCC item, on improving wireless 911 call routing, is a pretty pure record refresh of 2018 NOI. The issue was controversial 4 years ago. Probably will be this time too. fcc.gov/document/impro…

.FCC has been closed to the public since March 2020. “For those who have not been in these parts, you'll notice we have replaced the famed eighth floor with the 10th floor, so get used to it,” Jessica Rosenworcel said.

After late action in Guam, the FCC's 2.5 GHz auction comes to an abrupt end, with net proceeds of $427.8 million. T-Mobile is widely expected to walk away with many of the licenses. More should be known shortly.

.T-Mobile , as expected, dominated the 2.5 GHz auction, winning 7,156 licenses for $304.3 million, covering 2,724 counties, the FCC announced Thursday. Only Verizon came away with anything among the other major national carriers.
