Protests are sweeping Iran & women are burning their hijabs after the death last week of Mahsa Amini, following her arrest by the “morality police”. Human rights groups say at least 8 have been killed. Last night, I planned to ask President Raisi about all this and much more. 1/7

Today is a historic day for Turkey. One of the most important elections of the last several decades. Not an exaggeration to say that the future of Turkish democracy is at stake. Impatiently, awaiting results and hoping for a clear mandate for the opposition.

Being a PhD student is hard, but being an international PhD student is even harder.

If you leave abroad, most likely you miss all the special events. Last week was hard. Three of my friends got married and one of my friend finished her PhD. I wasn’t there to celebrate with them. Yet, this is a picture of feeling together while not.

It was amazing two days with colleagues. Thank you Avery Harrison Closser and David Purpura for connecting us!
