A simple farewell lunch outing in the Gardens with Dr Eve Lucas (RBG Kew) and Dr Timothy Utteridge before she leaves this evening for the UK. Looking forward to her next visit for more work in Southeast Asian #Syzygium and #Myrtaceae. #SBGScience @KewScience

It’s a beautiful (and hope-filled) day in London - I’m so lucky to get to work in the amazing Kew herbarium every day, following in the footsteps of botanical giants #taxonomy #iamabotanist

And what an honour seeing our work on Angiosperms Phylogenomics (check here: rdcu.be/dOvNQ) highlighted in her talk as an example of collaboration for making great science!

Great to hear from Alexandre Zuntini about all the exciting work planned in Lamiales - an amazing order of flowering plants (with many important parasitic plants too!) #IBC2024

Ecologically important & found growing in the #Rainforest understorey, #Besleria has been understudied...until now where phylogenetic analysis confirmed its monophyly status & inferred its biogeographical history! 👇 academic.oup.com/botlinnean/art… The Linnean Society of London Laura Clavijo

I’ve likened the clove genus, #Syzygium, to a “large monstrous 🥧” with these questions in mind: 1) which part to eat first, 2) how to make the first cut, and 3) how big are the cuts? So, one of the “slices” is now published 😊! #SBGScience @KewScience publish.csiro.au/SB/SB24006

I am very happy to share that the Missouri Botanical Garden has received funding to digitize their entire herbarium! This work - made possible by an anonymous $14.4 million grant - will image and transcribe all 8 million specimens in the MO herbarium. MO Botanical Garden
