Very disappointed in the government’s decision to withdraw funding for local areas to reduce air pollution. This will have a long lasting impact. We’re calling on Robbie Moore MP to restore the funding and commit to protecting the health of the millions who breathe toxic air daily

The Ayes have it!
Hugely pleased that MPs voted in favour of the legislation to raise the Age of Sale of tobacco.
There’s still a way to go, but this is a huge step on our road to getting the biggest public health intervention in over a decade passed. #SmokefreeGeneration .
My last event for Asthma + Lung UK chairing our clean air roundtable with the mayoral candidates for West Yorkshire - brilliant debate on the solutions needed to protect our lungs from toxic air and the urgent need for action 📣
Great to see Harriet Edwards of Asthma + Lung UK clarifying the risks of using a wood burning stove in your home. They’re bad for our health, our wallet and our planet.
Brilliant from Harriet Edwards 👏👏
Burning wood is the biggest source of fine particulate pollution in cities like London. It devastates people's health.
Brilliant to see Harriet Edwards from Asthma + Lung UK to Kay Burley about wood burning:
💸It’s the expensive option
🤑In cities, mostly wealthy people do it
❤️🩹It poisons air for everyone
🌍It’s not the sustainable option
🫰It adds to our tax burden
‘You wouldn’t drink any level of poison in your water so why would you breathe in anything that isn’t good for your health?’
Well said Harriet Edwards 👏👏
Asthma + Lung UK
Cosy, cost-effective and sustainable
So why are there calls for wood-burning stoves to be banned?

Last night, we hosted a transport hustings in Greater Manchester with Urban Mobility Partnership and Clean Cities to hear from mayoral candidates about how they’d make transport cleaner and less polluting. Candidates shared their vision and answered questions from the audience.
Brilliant turn out and perfect weather ☀️for today’s #RideForTheirLives in Birmingham ahead of #RCPCH24 !

“Let's commit to tackling poverty and air pollution together both for current and future generations!”
Great talking to The Guardian about the urgent need for a plan to refer on those identified with suspected COPD during targeted lung health checks. This is a huge opportunity to transform lung disease diagnosis and help those currently suffering alone.

We fully support the Tobacco and Vapes Bill being introduced in parliament today. This marks a crucial step towards creating a #SmokefreeGeneration .
Let's urge MPs to prioritise lung health and making smoking history by backing this bill: action.asthmaandlung.org.uk/page/138424/ac…
📢Over 2,000 paediatricians and health professionals have called on the Government to roll out an RSV vaccination programme.
It's time for the Government to act to protect children's health and the NHS ahead of next winter: rcpch.ac.uk/news-events/ne… Asthma + Lung UK
