I think people who are into politics respond really weirdly when MPs are found to have committed crimes, especially sexual crimes. Jumping far quickly to electoral consequences, ignoring the fact there are victims.

Until now, sex in law has been assumed to be based on your birth certificate (which can be amended by a GRC). The Supreme Court ruling changing it to "biological sex", a much messier definition which isn't binary, without a definition introduces huge uncertainty to the law.

We are studying today's judgement by the UK Supreme Court. Nothing they rule will change our solidarity with the trans+ community and with everyone who seeks to live their lives under control of their own bodies, and free from poverty, ignorance or conformity. (1/3)

It's easy to be afraid right now. Believe me I am too. But equally we cannot let them win. We did not sit back and just accept section 28, and we cannot sit back and accept this. Trans rights now, trans rights forever.

This is a dreadful idea. There are ways to make it easier for those who can’t stay the whole time (such as people with chronic illnesses), but this just risks diluting the attention MPs pay to debates even further
