On 16 June 1851 a William Briggs wrote to Wellington about a planting ceremony at Sheffield Botanical Gardens Friends of the Botanical Gardens, Sheffield archives.soton.ac.uk/records/MS61/W… - the ash tree he planted came from Hougoumont at Waterloo and is thriving still
