Harry Leslie Smith on life before the Welfare State My family was no longer working class & poor; we were destitute. My parents didn’t believe life could become much worse for our family. But it did after the stock markets crashed in October 1929.

For those asking about the source, it is the Anti-Drug Committee in Gaza. Many citizens have found these drugs, and I saw them with my own eyes in the flour sacks. There is also a doctor named Khalil Abu Nada who wrote a full report on this issue.

So to be clear, this is a proposal for a two tier benefits system in which your entitlement is determined by when you apply rather than your actual situation, and so two people in the same position could have radically different outcomes purely depending on timing?

Capitalism has always been about expanding control over the working class, because capital most needs labor for exploitation on its terms (and knows the working class is a constant threat to that). Any and all means are geared towards that control.

This guy is a doctor in NYC who treats dialysis patients btw if your reason for not masking is “but my doctor for my vulnerable family member said it’s fine”

Julia Marie (@julia_doubleday) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Like idk where yall got this idea that masking didn’t become entirely politicized and that doctors don’t have atrocious politics lol, lots of them are Republicans 🤷‍♀️ and you should not be getting your POLITICAL advice about how to protect vulnerable groups from your doctor

For doctors the pandemic was “over” once they personally stopped feeling at risk. If those are your politics cool, that’s not rly socialist though lol. Millions of ppl have been disabled by this virus and have to avoid reinfection, others cannot get infected at all.

Thank you Mayor Olivia Chow 🇨🇦 and Toronto Council. This is an important emergency investment that will have major impacts on the health and welfare of homeless Torontonians all summer long by providing them with consistent access to potable water.
