Great to see my report for Law Society Gazette and The Bureau of Investigative Journalism referenced by Baroness Brinton during last week's debate. | 'Government hints at action on ‘unregulated experts’' via Eduardo Reyes

Good to see ⁦The Observer⁩ ⁦The Bureau of Investigative Journalism⁩ focus on weaponising of the family courts by abusive men to control women and children, including claims of “parental alienation” against mothers. ⁦Women's Aid⁩ & others have campaigned on this for years👇 theguardian.com/law/2024/apr/2…

The absurdity is staggering: a man who raped his wife claims he's the victim of domestic abuse. Using parental alienation claims to 'distress and frighten' is disgraceful, further victimizing true survivors.

The amount of domestic/sexual abuse in this story is awful:

The father coercively controlled mother + children.

He was voyeuristic, taking many sexual photographs + videos of the mother without her consent, the judge concluded.

He was also found to be financially controlling.

The father in this case was represented by Dads Unlimited, a charity that supports male victims of domestic abuse. However, the court found no evidence the mother had been abusive. Read the full judgment here: rb.gy/9m1zhg

A judge described a father who raped his wife & controlled & intimidated his family by filming them via a body-cam as 'reprehensible'. The man who accused his partner of parental alienation tried to convince the court he was a victim of domestic abuse. rb.gy/hwwrju

Insightful post. Describes the reality in family courts i described in my report on last year. Good to hear Sir McFarlane call a spade a spade. This is not limited to the UK but a worldwide phenomenon.
