Early draft of DARKOME (based on an idea from Daniel Suarez ✍️ Latest Book ~ CRITICAL MASS) had a subDarkome community using engineered microbiomes to mine crypto, results retrieved via stool samples + sequencing. Obviously called ... shitcoin. 💩😬

If anyone wants to produce this, I will write the screenplay. Borlaug is the ideal popular hero and his life story was made for the silver screen. So many film-worthy moments

"Darkome" was a phenomenal read - a "bio-punk" sci-fi story. Read it in ~120 minutes, could not put it down. Smart characters with complex motivations, plot is not driven forward by people holding "idiot balls", some quite funny world building. Nice job Hannu Rajaniemi

I recently gave a lecture where I tried to distill my “Otherness and control in the age of AGI” series into a single talk — and also, a single chart. Chart below. Video and transcript for the talk in thread.

We often talk about NotebookLM as a tool for understanding things. So it’s not surprising that people are using it to understand themselves.

I wonder what it's like to be an LLM, to write a poem the way I throw a ball, to live inside language, to shift text around like sand in the prison-garden
