New! In the fall, western-breeding Blackpoll warblers cross the continent and then make a non-stop flight over the Atlantic before reaching their S. American wintering grounds. For some, this an annual migration of more than 20,000 km. #ornithology esajournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…

House cats can often be confused for other animals. Not surprising as once they are outside unsupervised they behave like little cougars #cougarornot including hunting native animals. All the more reason to consider keeping your cat inside.

We've lost so many birds in such a short amount of time, but can bring them back! 1) Choose native plants 2) prevent window collisions 3) keep cats indoors 4) avoid pesticides 5) buy bird-friendly products (like coffee!) 6) reduce plastics 7) engage in community science

The release of unwanted pets have become the norm for some factions. This practice has a negative impact on our native animals such as rat bats, lizards, snakes and birds. It is also cruel to the pet that is discarded. Please carry unwanted pets to animal centers such as #JSPCA

“This is all wrong, I shouldn’t be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean. You have stolen my dreams, my childhood with your empty words. We will not let you get away with this. Right here, right now is where we draw the line” Greta Thunberg
