Good morning!

I feel it is incumbent upon immigrants to learn the language of their adopted home. At 52 yo, I am struggling to do so. But A LOT of Americans here don't. At least 1/2 of the American expats I've met here don't speak Spanish, and aren't even trying.

The question is whether you should learn the language of the country you move to. Not, can you afford to buy your way out of common courtesy & respect for the locals. I have 0 doubt that Americans would still be 🤬 if rich retired Mexicans moved in & refused to learn English
