We have some really important work being done at the church currently. The external south wall and porch has been stripped of it's render, ready to be repaired and replaced.

The current restoration works have uncovered some treasures; like the knapped flint wall at the front of the porch. The plan is to repair these and not to re-cover them in render.

Afternoon jaunt to St Peters Church - Hamsey

The restoration work currently on going at the church has revealed one of the original windows of the church. Extrordinary to think that it allowed light to fall within the building nearly a thousand years ago.

The return of our beloved Carol Service. All welcome!

Volunteers from the 'Friends of Hamsey Church' have enabled the church to be open to the public through the winter weekends 10 'til 4pm.

Thank you to everyone who made it to our magical annual Carol Service this afternoon. Regular Services resume in May. While the church is open to visitors, weekends 10 'til 4pm throught out the winter.

Today, James Neal, head gardener at Michelham Priory took a trip to The Long Man of Wilmington. Green-fingered James couldn't fully take his mind off his gardening duties though, as he was quick to spot some wildflowers growing 👀🌱🌼
