The government's new bill would weaken human rights for everyone in the UK. It's part of a disturbing trend of the government reducing its own accountability. We oppose the #RightsRemovalBill quaker.org.uk/news-and-event…

In 1987 Quaker John Punshon wrote that he found Meeting for Worship an “opportunity for prolonged and undisturbed prayer” and described prayer as “the encounter with God in the heart”.

There are many kinds of prayer. Some ask for help or forgiveness. Some show gratitude or wonder. These are all based on common human feelings. Quakers also try to wait in quietness, which can be hard, to attend to the promptings of love and truth, and to be led by the Spirit.

Martin Lewis Ricky Boleto What a great piece by Ricky and BBC Newsround to help us talk about the cost of living crisis. We've written a new resource for parents & carers on talking to children about money worries. Please share to anyone who’d find this helpful. quakersocialaction.org.uk/we-can-help/mo…

The change of prime minister is an opportunity for the country to restore the essential values of truth and integrity in public life. We hold our leaders in the Light so they may have the courage to face up to this challenge. #BorisJohnson quaker.org.uk/news-and-event…

Quaker Mark Russ writes of Meeting for Worship: “Our meetings are not private silent retreats. They are spaces for the spirit to move and do surprising things. Our worship can be a place of adventure and experiment and learning …”

Quakers reckon that there is something of God in everyone - something loving and yearning for truth. We don’t all feel comfortable with the word “God” which may have difficult associations. We also speak of “the promptings of love and truth”.
