Gunships in SEAD roles are unfeasible. Both 🇵🇰🇮🇳 mil combat philosophy for these helis tilts towards anti armour, COIN , CAS roles. Also,ageing fleets of existing choppers . Otherwise, these systems are vulnerable in contested airspaces. UCAVs have already taken up their roles.

C130 centre fuselage (wings) is a sturdy structure. But it also houses the joints ( nuts) that join it with the aft section and forward cockpit section. Maintenance SOP demands overhauling of these every 600 flt hours. Lack of maintenance on older overexerted airframes is lethal.

Aviation experts are citing another case of such disintegration of a US Marine KC130 in 2017 where a propellor blade came off and hit the aircraft in the centre. KC 130 immediately crumbled in different parts, like the clip from TuAF crash today. Prayers for the departed airmen.
