New data: the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program resettled 6,468 people in July — the 5th straight month of 6,000+ arrivals — for a total of 45,123 this FY. It’s real progress, but there’s still work ahead to reach a pace on par with the administration’s target of 125,000 per FY.

Zarmina came to the US as a refugee from #Afghanistan when she was just 9 years old. 30 years later, she watched in shock as the Afghan government fell to the Taliban and nearly 80,000 Afghans were evacuated. Her call to welcome others as she had been welcomed brought her to LIRS
