Why Apple, WHY!?!

If only the "Liquid Glass" was like these elements in the #WWDC25 trailer, rather than the hyperactive-child-on-long-road-trip-kicking-the-back-of-my-seat glass effect we got.

I'm left with the feeling today after #WWDC25 , that if "Liquid Glass" doesn't have some dramatic changes before final release – the 26 OSes are going to test how locked into the Apple ecosystem I am. I can't design in this noise.

Changing this accessibility option, makes a dramatic improve to "Liquid Glass", by basically turning it off. There's still some legibility issues, but such an improvement. #WWDC25 Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Reduce Transparency

I remember when my graphic design tutor at university was moaning about how colorful System 7 was, and how they had ruined the clean look of System 6. This was 5/6 years after the release of System 7 mind, as we were already approaching System 8. Yesterday I became him!

Next up, Mac OS 26 Tahoe. What is this monstrosity?! Read order be damned huh? The drop shadows are just so dominant and over-the-top, and needless. The side bar is also very visually confusing. The changes to the title bar are another example of form at the expense of function.

This is a great idea, I worked off Oxford Street for about 5 years and it's a traffic nightmare. Pretty sure they got the scale of those 3D plant pots a little wrong though.
