'Platecarpus' ptychodon is more than just teeth - and the skull reveals it's not Platecarpus at all! Congrats Strong et al. on this redescription. The fluted teeth might have been an adaptation for capturing fast and agile fish prey. #MosasaurMonday

I...think I felt an earthquake in Edmonton! Nothing violent, but a different house-shaking feeling than the wind causes. And the trusty map from USGS Earthquakes reports 4 quakes from northern Alberta today. Cue minor geo-dork excitement before returning to zoology lectures.
