I love this bit, when everyone's ready to sing & the (extra-large) orchestra arrives gradually. (We thought the bells had been removed but they're just slightly more to the side than yesterday.) Hallé Choir

Looking forward to #Mahler 2 tomorrow! We’re cramming the choir stalls. The Hallé Kahchun Wong The Bridgewater Hall

I can't see half the orchestra - including the bells! from where I'm singing, so I had to do a final video on my way out of the hall. There are extra players in every section (plus an offstage band) and obviously they all sound awesome! Hallé Choir

This evening at our orchestral rehearsal for #Mahler 2 David, Claire, Jackie and Rowena were all awarded 30 year long service awards by our principal conductor Kahchun Wong. Congratulations and thank you for your dedication and commitment to the choir over the last 30 years!

Tonight Kahchun Wong conducts The Hallé & Hallé Choir in Mahler's Symphony No.2 'Resurrection'. They will be joined onstage by Mezzo-Soprano Dame Sarah Connolly and Soprano Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha, 2021’s BBC Cardiff Singer of the World. Details: halle.co.uk/event/mahlers-…

Very much looking forward to sharing the stage with Forever Bells this evening The Bridgewater Hall with Hallé Choir

Feeling resurrected after Mahler 2 The Bridgewater Hall. There are times when a piece I’ve sung numerous times with Hallé Choir takes on new meaning. More so joining Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha, Sarah Connolly & Forever Bells…and, of course, Kahchun Wong, Matthew Hamilton and The Hallé 🥹

Reasons why that was the best Mahler 2 I've ever done (and I think also the fastest full standing ovation of any CONCERT I've ever done!): 1. Kahchun Wong & Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha & Sarah Connolly 2. Hallé Choir and The Hallé are better than we've ever been

Review Guardian Classical, ★★★★★: “...the immaculate first vocal entrance of the choir – singing while still seated, and without scores – seemed to shimmer out of the ether” The Hallé Kahchun Wong theguardian.com/music/2025/jan…

Review The Times and The Sunday Times, ★★★★: “...thanks to some truly fine singing by the Hallé Choir and Hallé Youth Choir — from their gentle entrance to the glorious apotheosis — the finale’s message of rebirth rang forth” The Hallé Kahchun Wong thetimes.com/culture/classi…
