It's not a benefit 'cut'. It's benefits REMOVAL for many. 'Cut implies' people will 'only' be worse off by £100 -£400. It means some will lose PIP and other benefits ENTIRELY Rachel Reeves Laura Kuenssberg #BenefitsRemoval #BBCLauraK

We’re told an ‘impact assessment’ on #DisabilityBenefits cuts is coming with the #SpringBudget tomorrow. As a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, I can tell you: the impact is already here. Suicidal ideation. Self-harm. Fear. Despair. A nationwide surge in anguish.

All the places on these consultation meetings (in person and virtual) are gone after 2 days. So I'm guessing they don't really want to talk to many disabled people about this! ⁦Department for Work and Pensions⁩ you need more dates or this is a sham of a consultation. gov.uk/government/con…

How to cause a national mental health crisis: Strip 1.3 million people—nearly 40% of all current PIP daily living claimants—of the money that gave them personal independence. Blood on Labour’s hands if the proceed. #WelfareNotWorkfare Thanks to Martin Bonner 🦋 @argentas.bsky.social for the FOI.

Ha. Turns out Judge Hodge is only JK Rowling’s funking neighbour in the same exclusive area of Edinburgh, Merchiston. What a country. Really is the 1950s. #Establishment

None of the people complaining about women being 'unable' to use the loos have ever complained about the lack of disabled loos and disabled women being forced to go home just to have a wee But we don't count, do we?

We have over 800 signatures in just 70 hours! Our coalition — clinicians, researchers, carers, and most importantly, disabled people — will help the public and Parliament see how dangerous these cuts would be. Every signature adds weight. ✍️ Please sign: tinyurl.com/2tvfvzft

So sick of Abled folk acting like disabled people are children who need to be "parented". How they look and talk down on us. How they assume we are all the same. How they think they know our lives better than we do.

Just because a disabled person has done one thing on one day, doesn't mean they can do other things, or even that they'll ever be able to do that thing again.

I’m not reassured by the idea of a legal safeguarding duty for the DWP to protect vulnerable claimants. They’re already bound by common law to do this. Plus, mental health services and prisons have similar duties, and often fail to deliver. It could easily be used as a patsy.
