What is the deal? Every released blockbuster she’s written has bombed. This will be her 3rd blockbuster in a row which is either never released or never even made.

People always say this about old movies, they’re comfortable saying CK is overrated, admitting they were bored by The Godfather, etc. It’s only when you say it about new and current objects of hype that you get called a “contrarian” or a “troll.”

This is true. Broccoli’s failure to move the franchise forward followed by the reluctant Amazon sale followed by the never-ending failure to cast a new Bond epitomizes the toothless perpetual indecision that now defines Hollywood. It’s a pathetic and depressing thing to behold.

One of the most fundamental reasons big studio movies don't feel like movies right now is the rise of the writer-director. Some people can do both but most people cannot. They're very distinctly different fields. You end up getting great directors making their mid scripts, or you

Yes amazing, I’ve never seen a bunch of X accounts hype up a new movie using very slight variations on the same promotional blurb language before!

It’s a brilliant ending because it reveals that this character, while we root for him, has tragically succumbed to the same mental breakdown and irrational impulses in the face of terror that he thought he was immune to and righteously standing up against the entire time.

To save the movie theater business, Hollywood will have to remember how to make films for the 50% that is being ignored: males, and yes, conservatives.

There is no "diversity" in Hollywood when all the work produced 'says' the same thing & when everybody's individual experience (including, but not limited to, one's ethnic/racial, sexual/gender &/or cultural background) is homogenized into a monolithic ideological perspective.

By the end of the 00s Hollywood had decided that its future would be to merge film and TV into one giant mass of interchangeable content. Most overpraised mediocre movies of the last 15 years were written and directed by people who should’ve just had careers in TV writers rooms.

Film Twitter is just one never ending cycle of people pointing out, very reasonably, how awful something is, then the glazers say “no it’s great actually!” “Movies aren’t as good as they used to be.” …….“No, they’re better than ever actually!”
