My chapter of IBEW just ratified a new, 3-year CBA that includes an $18.40 / hr raise. Including the last three agreements, we have negotiated for $63 / hr in raises spanning twelve years.

Unions work for people. Don't believe anything else.

On this sober anniversary, I’m reflecting upon the fact that drug addiction absolutely destroyed my life. At same, drugs saved my life every time I thought, “I can’t take this anymore” and opted to get high rather than die.

I served on a jury with a juror who kept sleeping during the trial. He even fell asleep during closing arguments. I was kind of annoyed with him until I found out he had to work night shift before coming to court.

He got dismissed right before deliberations began.

Oh brother. OK, so first someone with 'Attorney for the State' in their bio asked me for...an example of there being a chasm between what the law allows and what justice would be. Which is a bit surprising to me, so I kinda ignored it. But you guys want it, here we go.

Boy are these politicians in for a surprise if they actually vote to ban Tiktok.

Utah is one of those states I often forget even exists.

Whenever I hear it mentioned, I’m like, “Oh yeah, and people live there.”

My local union, IBEW 617, is currently accepting applications for the inside wireman apprenticeship. This is in San Mateo County, California. Starting wage for apprentices is $27.30 and tops at $78 (plus benefits).

No experience required. Formerly incarcerated people welcome.
