I am still amazed everytime I meet elite athletes in my practice who has been seen by so called world renown specialists and the treatment they have received is needling, injection of unknown substances, and being advised to get their teeth pulled out etc. for a simple groin pain

No, it isn't just "wear & tear". 👉"OA is no longer considered a 'wear and tear' condition but rather one driven by proteases where chronic low-grade inflammation may play a role in perpetuating proteolytic activity". jrheum.org/content/42/3/3… The Rheumatology Physio

Something that seems to get lost in the age of social media: Science isn't about validating your own hypotheses, it's about seeking objective answers

What a great start to the year! My first SR has just been published IJSPT. Thanks to my friend Carlo Ramponi for the help and to my mentor Professor Kristian Thorborg for the support without which this would not have been possible. An amazing collaboration 🚀 ijspt.org/what-is-the-in…

Nice overview of the management of people with symptomatic OA. Given the emerging evidence on metabolic/immune causes, is it time that our focus turned to prevention. When symptoms are established, it will always be harder to manage.

Marco Cattaneo For me is a harmful technique especially in the mid/long-term for the quality of the tissue. Even more, there is no need for using any type of device, technique or whatever to manage a muscle-tendon injury. Only apply the exact load in the exact time and respect biological times.

Bone on bone and other similar phrases aren't very helpful... and often, they alarm patients. You may not know it, but those few words can stop someone from exercising because they're scared. I've seen this too often to count.
