Might there be some actual rain next wknd in SoCal? Yes, there's a good chance of showers! But uncertainty is high; SoCal will be on "razor's edge" between heavier downpours (& post-fire debris flow risk) and yet another strong/dry offshore wind event. Stay tuned. #CAwx #CAfire

End of an era: Two of three towers at the Ivanpah solar plant in the California desert will be shutting down, as PG&E reaches a deal to cancel its contract with the solar facility. Concentrating solar technology never got cheap like solar PV panels did: reviewjournal.com/business/energ…

Vending machine customers pay about 30 to 50 cents per gallon, a notable markup over the penny or two a gallon a typical tap water user pays at home. San Diegans Can Drink Their Tap Water. Many Pay More at the Vending Machine Anyway.  voiceofsandiego.org/2024/12/13/san…

Other than to create more revenue, I don’t see why we need to increase parking fees in SD. “Proposed Parking Meter Fee Increase and Implementation: Under this proposal, parking meter fees would double Citywide, with most fees increasing by $1.25 per hour to $2.50 per hour.”

There is an increased risk of heavier rain rates and/or thunderstorms for many areas south of Point Conception, particularly Sun afternoon through Mon afternoon. High rain over a burn scar may result in debris flows or mudslides. Follow the instructions of local officials!

California's reservoir storage even in Southern California is in incredibly good shape. Four of the state's largest reservoirs are over 125% of normal water capacity. Despite extreme drought, reservoir storage in SoCal remains near or well above normal for all major reservoirs.
