It is an honor to deliver the inaugural State of the Schools address for the City Schools of Decatur this Friday. There is so much to celebrate within our schools, and I am eager to share the district's strategic roadmap for fostering growth and achievement for all students.

Thank you to all who attended our Inaugural State of the Schools! Proficient & Distinguished ELA ranked first in the metro Atlanta area in grades 4-8. For Black subgroup ELA ⬆️ in grades 3, 5, 6, & 7. For Black subgroup ELA ⬆️ was a remarkable 21-percentage-point in grade 5.

I celebrate the class of 2024 for earning the highest ACT average in Georgia at 24.6, surpassing metro and national averages. City Schools of Decatur also ranked second in the state for SAT scores, with a 95.25% graduation rate, well above the state average. All are ⬆️!!
