On August 6, 2011, the U.S. Chinook helicopter Extortion 17 was tragically shot down in Afghanistan, resulting in the loss of 38 lives. Today, we honor and remember their bravery & sacrifice. Their legacy continues to inspire & remind us of the profound cost of defending freedom.
