My advice to anyone thinking about entrepreneurship:

Start.

The itch won't go away.

The compounding effects of success are real.

But it requires action.

Remember that anything worthwhile in life usually sits right outside your comfort zone.

Action is often the hardest

Advice for anyone trying to sell me something:

Tell me who you are, who you work for, what you sell, and how what you sell can help me.

Say it to me in one sentence before giving me the opportunity to speak.

Don't ask me how I'm doing.

Definitely don't ask how my weekend

How did I convert 'I don't have enough money for a repair' into 'Let's move forward with the whole roof'?

I don't really know. There's not always a rhyme or reason for why people act the way they do.

But I do think I did two things right:

We stepped through a homeowner's ceiling last week.

Four days before he was showing the place to prospective tenants.

Patched and painted everything up within 2 days (at no charge to him).

Signed a $12,540 reroof 3 days later.

What's your best story of turning a negative

'Is it always going to be like this?' - my wife

Got home at 10pm Monday night after another 17 hour day.

My wife looks defeated. She had a tough day at work (she's a beast- PhD in Biomedical Engineering). 14 month old daughter is sick. She's worn out burning the candle at both

Different strokes for different folks. But I think way differently than Tyler.

4,000 square foot laundromat: $1.5 million build

Laundromat revenue ceiling: $1.5 million

Profit ceiling: $750,000 (assuming best case of 50% margin)

Exit potential: $3 million (assuming 4x

'Mom said thank you for making the house safe again.'

All this homeowner wanted was a safe space for his mom to spend the later part of her life.

There's a lot you have to put up with as a small business owner.

Moments like this make it all worth it.

Happy to play a small

A day in the life of an owner/operator of a new home service business:

4:04am: Wake up (Iโ€™m weird- I can only set my alarm in palindromes)

4:30am: 45 minute mobility + lift

5:15am-6:45am: Work on everything I canโ€™t focus on during selling hours. Proposals, CRM updates,
