Happy #ElectionDay, Hoyas! We are thrilled to share how @GUVotes’ impact is being felt across the Hilltop with some stats about 2020 Georgetown student voter turnout. Hoyas understand that voting matters. And, in 2020, @GUVotes was instrumental in #GOTV efforts. 🗳️

.GU Votes is working hard to enhance the voting culture at Georgetown University by simplifying the voting process. In 2020, GU Votes took one step closer to reaching their goal of registering 100% of eligible voters on the Hilltop. 93.1% of eligible students are now registered to vote.

It’s not enough to just register to vote. Hoyas know that. To make your voice heard, you have to #VOTE. In 2020, Hoyas raced to the polls from around the country and surpassed their 2016 voter participation rates! Eligible Voters➡️61% to 79.4% Registered Voters➡️69.7% to 85.3%

.GU Votes has done a phenomenal job promoting voting & civic engagement—helping their fellow Hoyas navigate state-specific changes amidst the pandemic. And it paid off! Hoyas outperformed the national average by a staggering 13.4%!
