Lady beetle nymphs turning to cannibalism when the aphids run out. Between them and the aphid fungus the aphids are declining rapidly in a lot of fields.

Bollworms trying hard to feed on 3 gene cotton. This is Phytogen 400. Under intense pressure a little bit of damage but not enough to warrant foliar spray. The 3 gene cotton holding up for now!

Bollworms in soy ain’t checking up yet. Loopers coming on strong and stink bugs too! Photo courtesy of my friend Jeff. Great time to get out and scout your soybeans! Watch weather closely to determine when to spray.

If your bollworms in soybeans disappeared, this may be the reason. Entomopathogenic fungus, Nomuraea rileyi. Before you spray examine the worms. Loopers also seen with fungus and virus. Ben Thrash Nick

Younger Soybeans getting hammered pretty good in Jackson County. Culprit: FAW Fall Armyworm Threshold: 20% defoliation averaged across the field. Still not in every field I’ve been. Definitely FAW out there and are targeting multiple crops, yard, pastures, etc. Gus Lorenz

Thank you everyone for all the nice comments regarding my retirement. But most of all I’m thankful for all of your support and friendship all these years. I tried my best to support our farmers and the Ag industry of AR. I’m retiring but hope to see you around! Stay in touch!
