May is National Military Appreciation Month. But honoring our veterans means more than saying “thank you.” It means protecting them when they’re home. We owe them better. We owe them safety, support, and systems that work. #GunViolenceWatchTX #SupportOurVeterans

According to police, a group of family members—kids between the ages of 10 and 17—were in an apartment when a gun was introduced. The 11-year-old died at the scene. The 17-year-old, distraught, fled and later took his own life. We say it often: Secure storage saves lives.

📊 53% of veteran gun owners don’t store all of their guns securely. ⚠️ That’s especially concerning given that veterans are more likely to own firearms—and are at higher risk for suicide. Suicidal crises are often brief. #GunViolenceWatchTX #Veterans #SecureStorage
