This week in Pluto class, we started our new text “Viking Voyagers” by Jack Tite. Many of our class know a lot about The Vikings already 🚢 ⚔️ so they’ve enjoyed sharing their prior knowledge with the class!

Supernova are enjoying learning hockey skills in PE.

This week in Star Class we have been representing numbers up to 8. We thought this a perfect time to have some fun making spiders! Lots of fun, practical maths happening in EYFS!

EYFS children have had a great #worldbookday today! Children dressed up as their favourite characters. We had a special costume parade. We made our own books too. Lots of fun today!

Supernova class have enjoyed researching about different volcanoes around the world, locating volcanoes on a world map and learning how they are formed.

Pluto class had an amazing time today at the Royal Festival Hall! We saw the London Sinfonietta Orchesta and even got to take part in one of the songs. We enjoyed seeing how the conductor manages all the members of the band, just like we learnt about in our music lessons.

We are very excited that our incubator and eggs have arrived from the #happychickcompany. Our children have been making predictions about what is going to happen next. Hopefully some chick visitors will hatch their way out, ready to say hello to us very soon! 🥚🥚🥚🐥🐥🐥

We are thrilled to see that FOUR chicks hatched overnight! The incubator is getting busy! Looking forward to seeing how our children react to the good news later. How many more hatchings will happen today…?! #thehappychickcompany

Our chick visitors in EYFS have provided SO much stimulus for talk and creative activities! Before the eggs hatched, children made predictions about what would happen. Look out for our next chick update, now that they have moved to their brooder box. #thehappychickcompany

Our Early Years chick visitors are settling in to their new home in the ‘brooder’ box. Here they have more space and access to food and water. They are already looking bigger and fluffier! #thehappychickcompany

Star Class children have enjoyed learning about the life cycle of a chick. They used their phonic knowledge to label their life cycle diagrams.

It’s been all about Makaton signs in Star Class today. We have been learning signs for #deafawarenessweek Children learned sentence starters and actions for story words like “Once upon a time”, “Next”,and “Finally”. They will use these to retell the story ‘The Enormous Turnip’.

This week, Star Class children have been busy making their own treasure maps and messages in a bottle. We made our own ‘treasure map’ paper by staining A4 paper with tea and coffee!
