This was actually the tennis and cricket grounds on Sutton Court Road near Fauconberg, that was later used to build the Montgomery Court Estate.

Beyond the embracing figures on the boathouse balcony you can see numerous boats moored out in the stream - there were many of them at #Strandonthegreen when I came in 1971, bringing life to this stretch of Thames.

There are now adults that can't remember a time before the internet, or mobile phones. I saw an endless stream of 4x4's dropping kids off at school this morning, and in a few years time there will be people that don't even remember walking to school. How odd that all seems. 🤔
