Re: a major effort to create new #DRC maps, @GRID3 + Ecole de Santé Publique de Kinshasa-ESP collected 8K+ #GPS coordinates on settlements, 1K+ on #health facilities, & 7K+ for other POIs in #Maniema . We used the data for basemaps that can help improve #polio vax + other campaigns. More info soon.

This week the @GRID3 Health Technical Sub-Committee was inaugurated by the Monitoring + Evaluation Dept Budget & Economic Planning NG. This body will help ensure our workplans align w/ govt priorities + maximize use of #geospatialdata to improve #health outcomes. Thrilled to work w/ the committee!

Last week the GRID3 team met in Nairobi to discuss strategies around our 2024 work plans, partnerships, & organizational processes. We are excited to continue supporting, w/ partners @CIESIN & WorldPopProject, the #DRC and #Nigeria govts. achieve health outcomes in 2024.

We recently held a terrific workshop with NMEPNigeria + Society for Family Health. We'll work closely with our partners to collect #geospatial #data that can inform #microplanning + #bednet distribution for #malaria . Partner @CIESIN led the training + will use the data to update datasets.

With #COVAX ending, @GRID3 thanks the countless gov'ts, NGOs, + communities that helped deliver 2 billion #COVID19 #vax doses to 146 countries and averted 2.7 million deaths. We were proud to contribute to the effort by supporting geospatial data use: bit.ly/3uATtEp

Pathfinder Nigeria through the GEOST4R project, supported the Kano State Government to conduct the 2024 Integrated Primary Health Care (PHC) Reach Every Ward microplanning process aimed at planning for human & financial resources for improved coverage of PHC service delivery & #RMNCHN

Last month, NPHCDA held #measles #vax campaigns in #Kano State. @GRID3 supported geospatial data use around #microplanning , implementation, and accountability in 6 LGAs, where 600K+ infants got a vax. We also helped with microplanning for #diptheria and #hpv vax in Kano.

Yesterday I completed a free 3-week online training on microplanning-related data and GIS hosted GRID3. It was a nice experience using array of geospatial data, guided on how to analyze & visualize them via the map functions in QGIS. I'm grateful GRID3 training team
