Pleased to meet Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio to celebrate recent commercial deals between our countries, congratulate him on his appointment as Chairman of Ecowas - Cedeao, and discuss joint efforts to cooperate on security and border integrity.

My latest piece for Energy Voice today asks why President #Trump likes the #UK so much. I also suggest we take advantage of that (and any belief he has that he has moved the dial on UK #oilandgas policy) for our benefit. 🇬🇧🇺🇸🛢️ energyvoice.com/insights/energ…

It has always amazed me why #oilandgas were hit by a windfall tax yet nothing has ever been done about the major supermarkets who, as Sharon says, have been making huge profits.

My latest Substack blog looks at #OffshoreEurope in #Aberdeen last month and bemoans the failure of politicians to lead. Instead they are focussed on soundbites and sloganeering. That doesn't help #energysecurity and it doesn't help #energytransition. open.substack.com/pub/aodhancons…

#Nuclear power is the elephant in the room when we talk about future #energy provision in the #UK 🇬🇧. But it will, to me, play a vital part in meeting our energy needs and we should have a discussion about that. Read more in my piece Energy Voice: energyvoice.com/insights/energ…

What is it about people from New York and the fact that they are such bad losers? First the Ryder Cup abuse and now this rubbish?

For the #energy industry party conference season was depressing. Instead of discussion on a way forward to address #energysecurity and #transition we got name-calling, soundbites and slogans - all with ideological zealotry thrown in. Energy Voice energyvoice.com/insights/energ…

I bet Linfield FC thought they were going to come to #ShamrockPark and walk away with the 3 points without any effort. Didn’t work out that way did it lads? Portadown FC 😃😃😃😃⚽️🥅

The recent #SNP party conference was a surprising breath of fresh air. Positive words on #oilandgas, and direct factual challenge of #ReformUK - not name-calling. If only the party wasn't still so opposed to #nuclear. Read my latest blog: open.substack.com/pub/aodhancons…

When it comes to #energy it's not about #fossilfuels or #renewables. Instead it is 'and, not or' - we need both, at least in the medium term. Why is that so hard for some to understand? Read my latest Substack blog for more: open.substack.com/pub/aodhancons…
