When Adam from the What Is Music?: A Music Podcast About Music told me that Manic Street Preachers had mentioned the 20th anniversary ‘Lifeblood’ album re-issue I’ve have so many lovely messages, thank you. It was always a bit of an outlier in their lexicon so seeing how special it is to people is very heartening!

Today sees the release of the second Retreat From Moscow album ‘Dreams, Myths and Machines’. I’ve been a member of this band for 45 years, so to work on an album of new material has been an exciting, creative journey.

Twenty years ago I was asked by Manic Street Preachers to produce ‘Lifeblood’ following on from the work done by the legendary Tony Visconti. I cannot express how much it has meant to me knowing the album has finally found a much loved place in their lexicon.

It’s been hard to process losing the wonderful Martin Phillipps so suddenly. Martin invited me to be part of his incredible musical legacy, but he became my friend. I will miss his gentle soul. Sending love to T H E C H I L L S family and to all who cherished him.
