Boarding my train to London for my appearance at Middleton's Endgame this afternoon! Beyond Shakespeare

One week ago I was in London attending (and speaking) at Middleton's Endgame! It was a fantastic day - amazing to see this fascinating play in an actual performance. And so great to finally meet my fellow panellists - Robert Crighton, Prof Tracey Hill and Daniel Yabut - in person!

I found my first ever bit of... erm... "fan mail" (I guess?) in my Nottingham pigeonhole today...

Slightly shy about posting this. But I took on Sir Jonathan Bate in the Scotsman this week. I love some of his critical writing, but he’s wrong when he says that state school students have lost the ability to read long books. They just need adaptable, realistic curricula.
