New week, new project! An earth-themed Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme, with my job at LEAP. It was a day of smashing things with hammers, safely, obviously ! We made natural dyes using flowers, clay pots and even had a play at the park, felt like a kid again!

When you get paid to have a water fight 😜

Today I worked with ‘Green Routes’, a programme that helps people get into the job market. As part of our work, we painted a shelter, both my arms and most of my hair and sorted out the compost heaps, which my mum said I smelt like when I got home 😝 Joys ! Not bad eh?

Started the day off with the ‘Green Routes Team’, by doing some weeding and then using a breaker, to remove some broken flags and replace them over at HQ, a good days graft 💪 Loving this part of the job, mentoring the participants is proper rewarding stuff.

The rain didn't stop play at work today, as we made leek and potato soup 🥣 Homegrown leeks and the spuds harvested from Morrison’s 😜

My working week started off with planting up the playpark of a social housing scheme, where we bunged in lavenders, hebes and sedums. Today we painted a fence, had a BBQ and talked about the Oasis gigs; ‘cos there’s only one thing to talk about, right? ☝️

As I prepare to go back to Uni, I’ve said my goodbyes to my workmates at LEAP. It's safe to say that this job has taught me so much & as this chapter of my life comes to a close I want to say a massive thank you to everyone, who has supported & guided me. Hope to see you soon ☝️

I’ve been asked a Q. about my video below & I don’t know the answer: ‘I'm curious about the nymphs attached to the frog carcass. I wonder whether they may have been scavenging it. It's not behaviour that I've heard of before, is this something that's regularly seen?’ Thoughts ?

Well, that’s it, my summer back in Manchester is over. Spent my last night up on the moors with Buddy, will be 4 months before I see him again. Next stop Stirling, new student digs and the small matter of studying for my environmental science degree! Laters ☝️
