Fire-damaged head from a Chryselphantine (ivory & gold) statue thought to represent Apollo. Dated to 6th century BCE. Found buried next to the Sacred Way, Delphi. Sacred items could not be destroyed so were therefore buried. Archaeological Museum of Delphi. đŸ“· Helen Simonsson
