Confessionalism means at least (1) historical self-consciousness concerning where your particular church stands with respect to doctrinal position and development (2) seeing the historic creeds and confessions as vital resources, not hindrances, for the health of ministry.

Here is an essay I wrote for the Carson Center of The Gospel Coalition on Noah's ark. Thanks to Benjamin L. Gladd for the opportunity to contribute to such a worthwhile ministry. thegospelcoalition.org/article/closer…

We will miss Scott Redd and his family at Reformed Theological Seminary, Washington, D.C. - Scott helped us much with our transition to the DC area, and was such a strategic and pastoral leader for our campus. We couldn't be more thrilled for Briarwood, and glad to have Ligon Duncan as our interim president.

Reason number 6217 why Peter Lee is the real deal - one of our Mdiv grads (Caleb Jakana) couldnt make it to graduation due to their son’s birth, so Peter Lee goes to them to personally hand them the degree.
