A lot of people are wondering if all these tornadoes in NM are normal. Well, they are! We've had 7 reported tornadoes this year. On average, we usually see 9 a year. Most in the eastern plains. May also has the most number of tornado reports than any other month. #NMwx

Noticing the haze in the Rio Grande Valley today? It's a combination of smoke and dust. The smoke is from wildfires in Mexico. #NMwx

It's going to get a lot stormier across New Mexico starting Monday! A strong low pressure system will draw up moisture from the remnants of Tropical Storm Alvin. This will bring widespread rain and storm chances Monday. Rain chances continue into the middle of next week. #NMwx

What a day to be a glider! This one took off from the Moriarty Airport around 11:30 AM, riding thermals and updrafts around the Sangre de Cristo Mtns and back down to the Sandias and Manzanos. Glider planes are unique because they have no engine and rely on air currents for lift.

The North Diversion Channel at Embudo Arroyo is running HIGH from the storm that just moved through Albuquerque! Remember, ditches are deadly! This arroyo was dry earlier today and now has over 4' of rushing water. #NMwx
