The Sunday before any event we do is always record sorting day. Today we are pulling together all our Glenn Miller 78s. Amongst the records, we rediscovered this lovely sleeve. Look - no hole. Haven't looked to see if Macrae & Dick Ltd are still trading

We had a staff outing to London yesterday, and a visit to Museum of Brands. It was fantastic; we highly recommend a visit. Full of nostalgia and no less than seven gramophones, including a very rare New Melba machine. A must for any gramophonist and social historian.

We will be making a welcome return to Bognor Regis Museum on Sat 10th August between 1pm and 4pm. We will be playing a selection of music from the trenches of WW1 to the Rock & Roll years of the 1950s. Do join us on this musical journey through time. Love Bognor Regis BognorRegisObserver

Joyce is a delight, and her knowledge of historical knitting is fantastic. So sad it clashes with another event, we would have loved to have had a catch-up and peruse her collection.

Paul is an engaging speaker, and this promises to be the most enjoyable walk you will ever take in central London. If you are in London on Saturday, this is highly recommended.

Some of our more unusual machines had an outing yesterday. This is a Columbia 110 from the late 1920s. The louvers open and the tone arm & turntable lift as you open the lid - very clever

Another unusual machine from our collection is this Cliftophone from around 1928. The soundbox is parallel to the turntable which means the record can be played with the lid shut. Sound comes out from the hole at the front and there is a compartment in the side for your records.

We have had a staff outing today, to the D-Day museum in Southsea. They have just two gramophone records on display. We have seen plenty of V Discs (we have quite a few in our collection), but we have not seen the War Department record before.

Even on our holidays, we are still on the look out for 78rpm records. Today we found a collection of 78rpm records in a charity shop. The previous owner had typed out the lyrics and placed them with the record. How wonderful
