Is executive functioning understood enough in schools do we think? ๐Ÿค” the number of times Iโ€™m contacted by parents because schools have sanctioned because of a childโ€™s lack of executive functioning skills is alarming tbh ๐Ÿซค #SEND #autism #ADHD #inclusion #Neurodiversity #equity

graham chatterley Natascia Ruth Brooker and Alan Barnard can you comment? Regarding FUNDING "from the top", there are many possible sources of funding for any schools interested in piloting the use of air filters. They are not expensive.

It seems that when the only tool is a hammer, every problem becomes binary The extreme adult control or anarchy argument has seriously been done to death

A petition calling for play based learning a core part of KS 1 national curriculum. Apparently being โ€œschool readyโ€ means 4 year olds should be sat still at desks?! emphasis on progress & data points rather than emphasis on imparting joy of learning? petition.parliament.uk/signatures/155โ€ฆ

Almost 1m school suspensions in English schools in 2023/24. Over 10,000 permanent exclusions. The rates for SEND kids were more than 3 x others. The rates for FSM more than 4 x. Sanctions still soar under zero tolerance conditions. The most vulnerable kids still pay the price.

Are we going to change anything to try to stem this? Or are we going to carry on doing exactly the same expecting different results? Or does it not even matter, coz you know, progress 8/league tables, and we'll just blame the children

Brilliant response already after yesterday's news with over 20 tickets gone. When we know better, we absolutely do better. ๐Ÿง ๐ŸŒฑ

Daniel is getting a new wheelchair and we were discussing modifications Apparently postural support is more important than Roman chariot style spikes on the side for cars that block the pavement ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

There will still be plenty trying to say this doesn't happen There will still be some who don't connect the dots of starting the day with conflict and record exclusions This practice doesn't make children feel emotionally safe, there's no foundation to build on
