Microdisney - Singer's Hampstead Home (Virgin Records, 1987). The sleeve art features the William Christenberry photograph, "Red Building in Forest, Hale County, Alabama 1983."

Jesse Garon & the Desperadoes - You'll Never Be That Young Again (Velocity Records, 1989). The picture sleeve features a still from the 1961 film "Bridge to the Sun." (The film is based on the 1957 book by Gwen Terasaki).

Captain Sensible - The Captain's Box (Humbug, 1996). The sleeve artwork is based on a vintage cigarette box.

Echo & the Bunnymen - The Fountain (Ocean Rain Records, 2009). Cover star is the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park, New York, U.S.A.

Here's another homemade Smiths sleeve. Cover star is Hayley Mills in "Sky West & Crooked" (1965).

After a complaint from Capitol Records, the Rough Trade "tower" logo was quickly dropped from all record labels and picture sleeves. (On some labels a sticker was placed over the logo).

Pylon - Chomp (DB Recs, 1983). The T-Rex cover star is from a vintage postcard of Dinosaur Gardens in Vernal, Utah, U.S.A.

Dickiemania! May 1979, and over 2000 fans (mostly kids) turn up at the HMV shop in Newcastle for an in store record signing by U.S. punk band The Dickies.
