Mother Nature is full of wondrous beauty but on the flip side a reminder that she has a wantonly cruel side too. Sadly I’m not in the position or with the facilities today to help this little Guillemot, & so I’ll have to hope that it recovers or matters take their course quickly

We’ve decided to spend one more day on the Isle. Currently wringing wet after this super-cell downpour passed by directly overhead with a biblical deluge (:

We’ve been drenched more than once in the last three hours, but there really is something special about being in the audience when Mother Nature puts on a show :)

And they’re back in their own bed. Neither is talking to me, both in an almighty huff. Toddles from now on are going to be heavily compromised until we return for another sojourn on the Isle in a couple of months time :)

A last, long, lingering look back towards the the One isle on the horizon last night from Bamburgh. Two weeks in heaven always goes too soon. Reality bites (:

They’ve not spoken to me since we got back. Lindisfarne does that you. The small but mighty heavenly place on earth. It catches your breath, frees the imagination & enriches your soul. There is no place quite like it anywhere on this mortal coil.

Swapsies anyone? This has been the current sit rep for the last hour with little dog encamped in the yard lest anyone tries to exit back to the Isle without him. He’s totally knackered, with eyes that keep closing, his head drooping. Such is daily life with a spotted delinquent.

A change of scene now that our beach holiday is over. Instead of deer on the dunes to watch we have squirrels in the woods to gaze upon with lustful abandon. Ever seen a spotted hooligan climb a pine tree…..?

Ok, barring a late change (I may yet feature the Keel Crossing bridge in S’land) here’s the final line up for my 2026 A3 format wall calendar. I’m printing 200/250. An absolute steal at only £20.00 incl p&p. Overseas orders welcome. Advance orders taken at [email protected]

Arriving back in the drudgery of everyday reality after your holiday can really suck. Plus I have loads of editing which will keep me busy for a week or so :)

He’s now wondering if these yearlings (Mother is watching from not too far away) are the same harts as he’s been saying hello to for the past fortnight on the Isle. He won’t chase them but there are bunnies nearby, which he most certainly will, hence the lead on this occasion !

A dull, dreich, drizzly kinds day here in the Vale with an outdoor commissioned shoot cancelled. As such I’m continuing with a mountain of Island editing. Here’s the best result from the psychedelic sunset last week. I can see why tourists rightly shun this part of the world :)
