This week marked the end of 1st year graduate medicine! From immunology to obstetrics, GI to MSK, microbiology to neurology and a whole lot in between. It has flown by and I have loved every minute. Now a week of study before exams 😰 #Medicine St George's, University of London (1752-2024)

Absolutely devastated to hear that two UoN students were victims of such a horrifying crime. My thoughts and prayers go out to their families, friends and all my UoN colleagues. The University is such a tight knit community and I know this will be felt for a long time.

The happiness and disbelieve made me forget to update the Twitter family!! I passed my exams so onto the next year of Medicine in August! I’m excited and so proud of myself 🥹 St George's, University of London (1752-2024) #MedicalStudent

Amazing day shadowing a cardiothoracic anaesthetist in theatre yesterday. I saw 2x open heart surgeries for CABG’s plus a trauma call with cardiothoracic injuries. First time seeing a beating heart in the flesh, I feel so lucky to have had this experience and also very inspired!

Absolutely loved the past 5 weeks on my surgical placement. 3 weeks on renal transplant and 2 on colorectal. I have done my first set of bloods and catheter and even assisted in some colorectal surgery! I love surgery 🤩 Onto another PBL block now 🩺🩻💉#medicalstudent

Started my 2nd placement today, general medicine with gastro, geriatrics and endocrinology. Really welcoming team so far which is great! Although a consultant started to explain to me what ‘the role of physio’ is… apparently they are ‘for the legs’ 😆

Final placement of 3rd year started this week! GP attachment. Already noticed a huge difference in primary care vs what I’ve seen in secondary care, dare I say I’m really enjoying it?! Looking forward to the 5 weeks ahead 😃

Spent the day North of the river for once!! Fantastic experience at the cardiothoracic conference by PCP. Lots of food for thought and a look to what the future brings for prehospital care 🫶🏼

10 weeks on Medicine ✅ geriatrics and cardio 5 weeks and then Oncology. Never thought I’d say this but genuinely considering Oncology as a future career option. I loved every part of it and will really miss it. Onto Surrgery for the next 10 weeks now! 🔪 St George's, University of London (1752-2024) #medicine
