Very few badgers killed in the cull are ever tested, but of the ones that are the overwhelming majority of culled badgers have been bTB free and perfectly healthy. Their removal will have had zero impact on lowering bTB in cattle.

Must be warming up somewhat. The digesters of dung are obviously active. Pulling goodness into the soil. Feeding many other creatures as they proliferate.

Kill deer or go to prison: Scottish Government must drop Lorna Slater's scary plan to force landowners to carry out culls - The Scotsman. I love articles of this sort which shift the blame to mountain hares and ignore the millions of sheep in the room. apple.news/AHb0uDPAfQOWzt…

The eco groups ready for battle over Keir Starmer’s climate plans. This sort of thing is dim before you get to detail. Ugly scrub land ? That's where what little nature there is left survives. Court the NFU the destroyer's of all ? Witless. thetimes.co.uk/article/the-ec…

Well it's been a great few days in Brandenburg. Learnt a lot about wolf management and their history in north Germany. Speakers from Holland, Germany and other world nations will inform us more widely at our WOLF event from the 30th May till the 2nd of June at my place in Devon.

Sheep in wolfland. Perhaps 1000 plus. Goats following to keep areas of heathland open for reptiles, birds and invertebrates. This system is ancient and can promote considerable biodiversity. The price is vigilance. Guard dogs electric fences and human watchers by day and by night

This is a stupid and insular move. Quite typical of a government that is utterly out of touch with anything other than a minute minority of the society it governs

Wallace oversaw the MOD when hunts were given licences to use its land.
