Read somewhere that wisdom of crowds lies in the aggregate & not in average. it’s the emergent synthesis which makes the wisdom : the delta which is more than the individual parts. Much of this wisdom is from shared learning. Quite simply obvious but paused me for a few moments

In the calculus of war, lives lost across countries do not arithmetically cancel each other out. They stack up in collective moral burden of humanity. One can stand by their govt in nationalist solidarity and concurrently bear the moral scar of collateral damage.
