Thank you to Transport Secretary Mark Harper for supporting #BetterTransportWeek - a week to celebrate the sustainable transport that makes our lives better! Department for Transport
Over 100 attendees and standing room only. Clarence Mitchell, Cllr Simon Robinson and I hosted the 1st meeting been Reading Borough Council and Reading developers Vistry. Local residents were able to voice their concerns about the development. Details of the next meeting to follow soon
It was wonderful to hear first-hand the experience of moving from the Caribbean to England in the 1950s and 1960s at 'A Conversation with Windrush Elders'. Many thanks to Reading Museum and the Reading Windrush Group for such an interesting event. #BlackHistoryMonth2023
At the Cleaner Air and Safer Transport Forum meeting last week we discussed the removal of the advanced stop line on the Lower Henley Road. It was great to hear that Reading Borough Council have listened to us and will be restoring the markings with a mandatory cycle lane in the new year
Last night I attended the Caversham Park Village Association EGM on its future. Great to see people volunteering to help rebuild; local councillors Clarence Mitchell, Simon Robinson and I are discussing with Reading Borough Council if funding can be found to save this valued local organisation.
I was very pleased to speak at the first Campaign for Better Transport councillor training event - organised with Bus Centre of Excellence - on the success of Reading Buses and what other local authorities can do to improve bus services for residents.
Another deplorable act by the Club's current owners. There is a peaceful protest outside Adams Park at 6pm tomorrow evening for anyone who cares about the future of Reading FC and wants to object.
