It took 29.5 years but I have, finally, not only made my peace with this album but embraced it.

Didn't get any really good snaps of TobeNwigwe last night but here's a few anyway.

I generally have a reflexively negative and prejudicial attitude toward collaborative Rock-n-Roll albums. I'm not sure how this started but I've been this way for years. With few exceptions I'm mostly correct. This 2022 LP by Todd Rundgren is an exception. It's really good.

The phrase "the kids are alright" was aways the self-soothing rationalization of the song's protagonist for dumping his girlfriend at a party. It was not a broad statement about how current youth are rising to arb standards set by the activities board of the previous generation.

I submit that, once a careful audit of the following decade is performed, this 1989 release was more influential and portentous than Nirvana's "Bleach" which came out the same year.
